About the role
As a software tester, you make sure the software we deliver to our clients is of high quality and reliable. You design, run and document test cases for a range of applications and platforms, find defects, and work closely with developers and the business areas involved to get them fixed and keep software quality where it needs to be.
The role covers functional, regression, web service (SOAP, REST) and integration testing, and supporting UAT. You report and analyse test results, support the test automation engineers, and help keep improving our testing processes and standards. You also help keep the test documentation up to date, support release activities, and give clear feedback on software quality and the risks that come up.
What you will do
- Write test cases from specifications
- Help prepare test plans and the test strategy
- Carry out manual software testing
- Write test reports
- Analyse, evaluate and report test results
- Handle and track defect tickets
- Keep in touch with developers, project managers, business areas, analysts and partners
- Take an active part in setting testing goals and quality expectations
- Test REST/SOAP web services
- Support the test automation engineers and run test automation scripts
- Prepare test data and help set up test environments
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years of experience in software testing
- Experience on large enterprise software implementation projects
- Experience testing REST/SOAP web services
- Confident use of ticketing systems (for example Jira, Azure DevOps, Redmine, ServiceNow)
- Everyday use of M365 applications
- At least intermediate, working-level spoken and written English, used actively in projects: daily communication, writing test documentation, taking part in meetings
- Knowledge and use of the most common test management tools
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and keep developing professionally
- An independent, responsible way of working and a good team player attitude
Nice to have
- Knowledge of a programming language
- At least an ISTQB CTFL certification
- Experience modernising legacy systems
- Experience in a telecommunications environment
- Hands-on experience with different methodologies: agile (Scrum, Kanban), iterative and waterfall
What we offer
- A real AI-assisted development and testing environment, where new tools are part of everyday work, not just experiments
- Work in a newly built business unit, where you can help shape the technology direction
- Varied, complex enterprise projects with well-known telecom clients
- Room for professional growth and promotion into lead roles
- Hybrid work, with 2 days a week from home
- You choose where you work: Budapest (District XI) or Pécs
